INDOOR HOCKEY

The past week presented a challenging fixture list for Kearsney, particularly with the Matrics writing their trials exams.

On Wednesday the 1st indoor hockey team took on Northwood’s 2nd team. Kearsney started strongly, quickly taking a 3-goal lead. Northwood responded with determination, levelling the score at 3-3 and putting Kearsney under pressure. In a nail-biting finish, Kearsney broke the deadlock with a well-executed counterattack and followed up with two more goals, securing a hard-fought 6-3 victory.

On Thursday, with no substitutions available, Kearsney faced an uphill battle. The lack of fresh legs was evident against Glenwood, especially in missed opportunities during key moments. Despite a valiant effort, Kearsney went down 0-2.

Shortly thereafter, the match against Clifton College was a high-intensity encounter, with both teams displaying excellent skill and determination. The game was tightly contested, going goal for goal throughout. Kearsney had several chances, particularly from penalty corners, but wasn’t able to convert. The final score was a narrow 3-4 loss, reflecting the competitive nature of the match.
