Pinetown move up the school soccer rankings as they defied the odds this weekend, storming through the Kearsney Soccer Tournament to claim the title in a nail-biting final against pre-tournament favorites, Siyajabula High! Awande “Torres” Xaba fittingly drove home the winning goal which gave him 7 goals in the tournament.
Player of the Tournament Khulekani Nxumalo was in sensational form as well and proved to be a handful throughout the weekend. Their impressive run nudges Pinetown closer to the top 10 zone and that is sure to shake up the upcoming school soccer rankings, especially with the highly anticipated JBFL Discovery Cup kicking off in Gauteng.
While Clapham High maintains the top spot for now, the competition at the top is fierce, promising an exciting season filled with upsets and rising stars. Get ready for a wild ride as the school soccer rankings shift throughout the year!
