National Aquatics Festival at Clarendon High School

St Stithians Gold Medals

Clarendon High School for Girls hosted the 26th National Aquatics festival from 31 January to 1 February at our World accredited Harrison Aquatic Centre at Clarendon.

Clarendon welcomed eleven schools to this annual event.  During the Official Opening, Principal Julie Patrick welcomed the participating schools.  We invited the learners from Noncedo Combined school to join in for the march past.  Clarendon High School partners with them in a very successful Learn to Swim programme.  Clarendon Old Girls, Tori Voke was the Guest of Honour inspiring the swimmers and polo players to train hard and remain dedicated.

The gala consisted of mainly relay races as well as a few individual races.  The event ended with the exciting 50m Freestyle Dash for Cash both in the Junior and Senior age groups.

The Dash for Cash winners were as follows:

Junior

1st Maya Mcina – St Mary’s School, Waverley

2nd Saskya Kistasami – Our Lady of Fatima

3rd Payton Aitken – Durban Girls’ College

Senior

1st Grace Morris – Rhenish High School for Girls

2nd Jessica Carmody – St Mary’s Kloof

3rd Indiana de Villiers – Our Lady of Fatima
