BASKETBALL

Kearsney travelled to Riverside to play Clifton on a hot, windy morning for their final fixture of the term.

The game started slowly, with neither team gaining any kind of advantage and missing numerous shots as windy conditions on the outdoor courts were not conducive to easy offense. The first quarter ended with Kearsey ahead 8-7.

In the second quarter, Kearsney kept Clifton scoreless and was able to score more freely once they had come to terms with the playing conditions. At half-time Kearney had moved ahead 29-7.

While the third and fourth quarters were better for the hosts, they were only able to score 14 points to Kearsney’s 37. The game ended with Kearsney winning 66-21 and, despite the close first quarter, Kearsney never looked troubled by Clifton.
