Fairmont High School, the 2025 CHAMPIONS of the Belgotex Sport Easter Hockey Tournament!
In a tournament filled with twists, turns, showdowns, and shootouts, Finals Day delivered the perfect crescendo – and standing tallest on the mountaintop (twice), were Fairmont High School, who etched their name into Easter Hockey folklore by claiming both the Boys’ and Girls’ Cup titles.
While many climbed, only one school summited twice. It was the power of unity, of rhythm, of big-match temperament. Call it luck, call it skill — but this weekend, the hockey world was seeing double.
BOYS CUP FINAL: FAIRMONT 3–0 STELLENBERG
The mission was clear. The execution? Flawless.
Led by the cool and composed Bryce West, Fairmont were tactically sharp and emotionally locked in. Ryan Groenewald got them rolling – first with a composed penalty stroke, then with a thunderbolt drag flick from a penalty corner that left the net trembling. By the time Tyler Morilly added the third, Stellenberg had no answers and the Fairmont fans were already halfway through their celebrations.
From battles in the group to shootout survival in the semis, Fairmont finished their climb in style — and with gold around their necks.
GIRLS CUP FINAL: FAIRMONT 2–1 ST. PAUL’S
A beautiful final at the picture-perfect Hartleyvale Stadium, and a game that had everything.
Abigail Berghammer took full advantage of a penalty spot chance to give Fairmont the lead. But Tamara Grogli, who’s had a phenomenal tournament for St. Paul’s, showed composure well beyond her years with a classy equaliser that had the crowd gasping.
But with 5 minutes left on the clock, the final puzzle piece fell into place. A penalty corner. A moment. And Madison Ackerman stepped up with a clutch straight poke that fired Fairmont into history. 2-1 the final. Double Champs. Enough said.
A Hockey Celebration Unlike Any Other – What an incredible week!
More than 300 thrilling matches were played, and over 1,000 goals lit up the field.
