With Cricket now back into full swing we have a chance to look again at the weekly First XI Rankings in the country.
Kearsney College and Maritzburg College were involved in a close low scoring match which saw Kearsney get over the line with a one wicket victory, thanks in part to a couple of Grade 10 batsmen, Cameron Veenstra and Murray Weyer who chipped away at the total, but it was left to the last pair in Sandiswa Yeni and Otsile Ntsele to strike the winning runs.
In another KZN match, Glenwood came bitterly close in beating Northwood which would have been a big upset considering Glenwood’s early 2022 form. However Northwood’s tailenders, Harlee Jagga and Liam Perverette stuck grimly to the task to help with their 2 wicket win.
St Andrews School recorded a memorable win over neighbours Grey College thanks to a well struck half century by Andre du Preez and a brilliant 5/31 by Dakalo Leketa.
