Rondebosch move back into the No.1 position on this week’s SA School Sports First XI Cricket Rankings following some unexpected results down in the Cape.
Tazreeq Moerat of Paarl Gim ripped into the SACS middle order as he snatched 4/32 and helped to bowl SACS out for a total that Paarl Gim managed comfortably with 5 wickets in hand. Paarl Gim were up for the fight from the start as can be seen from this fine take by their wicket-keeper Arno Burger.
The annual match between Grey High School and Grey College promised much but at the end little could separate the two Grey’s and a draw was the fairest result. Grey College’s Darion Rabie claimed 7/40 in the first innings whilst the Grey High School left arm seamer Kaiden Titus took 5/35.
Woodridge College are putting in a big showing this season and claimed another impressive win over Kingswood College to stretch their unbeaten run to 10 matches.
There were several other outstanding performances last week including Christiaan Bourbon Leftley from Paarl Boys High who helped secure a solid win over Parel Vallei with an unbeaten 117 runs.
For the bowlers, Westville’s Aryan Golpalan (5/12), Northwood’s Nqobani Mokoena (5/16) and Somerset College’s Alexia Kontopirakis (5/30) all claimed five-fors.
