SA School Sports Boys First Team Hockey Rankings – A New No.1 Emerges!
For the past few weeks, there’s been one big question echoing around the school hockey rankings scene: Where is SACS? With their overseas tour complete and their domestic calendar back on track, SACS didn’t just return—they arrived with a bang at the Hibbert Shield, sending a powerful message to their rivals across the country.
SACS blitzed their way through the tournament, scoring a phenomenal 35 goals in just 6 matches, and capped off their dominant run with a thrilling victory over Paarl Gim in the final. The Cape Town juggernaut now debuts on this year’s rankings right at the top—No.1 in the nation!
Paul Roos Gym, who held the top spot until now, slide down to second but can take pride in a solid showing. They pushed SACS all the way, forcing their match into a shootout—a reminder of just how fine the margins are at the elite level.
Paarl Gim also deserves credit for a strong Hibbert performance, and their consistency sees them power into the top 10, showing that their season is very much alive with plenty still to play for.
