Rugby Preview: Boishaai v Paul Roos Gim

This is a must win match for Boishaai if they are going to entertain any hope of staying in touch with the top three and they must be the favourites to take the victory.

boishaai_v_prgBoishaai have had another excellent season which was highlighted in their brilliant draw against Grey College in the Grey backyard and have only lost two matches so far. Defensively they are one of the most difficult sides to score against and the opposition have only managed to score on average 10 points against them per match.

Boishaai boast one of the finest pair of locks in the Western Province in Sebastia Ferreira and Van der Merwe and the two big men will be looking to dominate the lineouts. With such a luxury as two Craven Week locks one can expect Boishaai to play to their strengths and they will be looking to their props Nagel and Van der Merwe to dominate the set phases.

Paul Roos Gim would probably admit they have struggled this season to play consistently quality rugby and they could be looking back on this season disappointed in how they let a few matches slip away from them. They will be depending on one of the strongest tacklers around, their inside centre Lombard to keep out the boys from Paarl at bay.

Paul Roos have a great backline with two of the quickest wingers in JP Lewis and Goliath and if they can see enough of the ball the two speedsters have the class to rip apart most defences.

It will no doubt be a great spectacle  and with some 12 Western Province Craven week players on display it will be a match of a very high standard. Yet with a passionate home ground advantage behind Boishaai it is going to take a monumental effort from Paul Roos if they are going to run out the winners.
