At the top end of the U14 Powerade Performance Rankings it is as close as it comes with any of the leading teams capable of snatching the number one spot as the final rights of the seasons are decided.

Grey College move to second place on the U16 Powerade Performance Rankings after a successful outing against Maritzburg College and with a match in hand could still surprise Boishaai and reach the top spot before the season is out.

Despite an overwhelming victory over the hapless Pretoria Boys High side, Affies remain behind Boishaai who lead the Powerade Performance Rankings at this late stage of the season.

School rugby fixtures and results from this week:

Glenwood remain unbeaten and still the leading team on the U14 Powerade Performance Rankings after yet another win over the weekend when they took care of Affies 21-0.

Affies confirmed their status as one of the leading sides on the Powerade Performance U15 Rankings when they just did enough against the powerful Glenwood team to remain on top of the table for another week.

Glenwood put themselves in contention for a top three finish on this year’s Powerade Performance U16 Rankings with a solid win over Affies and with the big match against Grey College still to come we could still see some movement amongst the front runners.

Rugby: Match Report- Glenwood vs Affies

This weekend saw Glenwood play host to the Witbulle from Pretoria, Affies. This game had all the makings of an epic battle with both teams leaving nothing to chance out on the field.

The 2015 Boishaai team left no doubt that they must be one of the finest teams produced in their prestigious history after they took on their greatest challenge of the year, Paarl Gim, and strung together their 18th consecutive victory and cemented their spot at the top of the Powerade Performance Rankings.

All the U14,U15,U16 and First XV Results from around Southern Africa:

Affies completed a 33-0 whitewash of Maritzburg College to further strengthen their grip on the No.1 spot on the U15 Powerade Performance Rankings for this week.

Paarl Boys High remain at the pinnacle of the Powerade Performance U16 Rankings for this week and at this stage it seems unlikely that they will relinquish that position.

Most of the leading teams in the country were in action this past week after taking a break during the July holidays. Boishaai remain the top team on the Powerade Performance Top 100 Rankings although Affies have closed the gap after a good win over Martizburg College.

The players are finally back on the field after what was for many a well deserved break during most of July 2015. As we gear up for the remainder of the season here are the results from the past week.

The SA Schools U18 and U18 A Squad which will participate in the 2015 International Series has been selected and it makes for some interesting reading.

With the 2015 Craven Week schools rugby festival only days away the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) has pointed to an alarming doping trend in the sport at this level.

The majority of the school teams enjoy a well deserved break from rugby during the holidays although there are many players still involved in the various Youth Weeks taking place. This is how the Powerade Performance Rankings are looking at this stage of the season.
