Watch Live the Keasney Easter Rugby Festival Matches Right here!

The Easter Weekend is upon us and there is a plethora of rugby on offer in the next few days that will see the finest teams in action.

In last year’s U14 Rankings it was a two horse race between Glenwood and Outeniqua with the Kwagga’s timing their run perfectly to pip Glenwood to take the top spot. Those same teams have progressed to the U15 ranks and have immediately risen to the top of this week’s Belgotex Sports U15 Rankings to resume their rivalry.

Grey College take the lead in the first publishing of this season’s Belgotex Sports U16 Rankings with what would have been an unblemished record until they met Menlopark who managed to pull off a narrow win against the Bloemfontein outfit.

The 2017 Rugby Season is in full swing and most of the leading teams in South Africa have played enough matches to grace this week’s Belgotex Sport s Top 100 Rankings.

The North vs South Tournament has grown in leaps and bounds and this week we will witness some of the finest teams in action from around the country.

Watch live the clash between EG Jansen vs Boland at 12:30 pm (1/04/2017).

As we take a collective deep breath before the smorgasbord of rugby is dished up during the Easter Festivals which is not far away, here is this week’s Belgotex First XV Top 50 Rankings.

Jeppe are off to a great start in the 2017 season and have already posed some problems for the opposition with their young dynamic side. Can neighbours St.John's College blunt their momentum?

It is probably a little premature to be publishing the first rankings of the season when there have only been a handful of matches played and many of the traditionally top teams have yet to even start their season. So we expect to get a bit of flack for that, but we can take it.

There is a spring in the step of the Jeppe XV this season after holding a strong Menlopark side to a 30-30 draw and signs that 2017 could be a big year for them. However St.Stithians has been known to turn the tables with their brand of running rugby so this should be a very interesting encounter between these Johannesburg neighbours.

Rugby: Was This the Best Running Back of 2016?

There has been plenty of exciting rugby players that have thrilled and entertained the faithful during the 2016 season and many of them hopefully will go on to capture attention in the professional ranks.

In the never ending quest to produce a competitive rugby ethos many schools have turned their attention to procuring the services of a professional coach or specialist to help bolster their fortunes in the sport.

The 2016 school rugby season has finished and once again we have witnessed the sport played in its purest form at an astonishingly high level.

Perhaps the closest of all the rankings the U16’s put on a tough race for the top with no less than six teams at various stages of the season enjoying life at the top of the table. However Monnas who consistently displayed a great mixture of defensive and attacking rugby end the season as the top U16 team in the country.

It was an extremely close season with Paul Roos, Grey College and Selborne all in the mix at various stages of the season. Yet few would disagree with Paul Roos Gym finishing up as the leading U15 team in South Africa following a record 15 straight wins.

The 2016 season for the U14’s was for the most part a two horse race between Outeniqua and Glenwood for the best part of the season. At the end though it was Outeniqua who edged ahead and completed a dramatic clean sweep to end up as the Number 1 team in SA and they did that without losing a single match.

Congratulations to Paarl Boys High who conquered all in front of them and deservedly end the 2016 season as the Number 1 ranked team on the Totalsports Top 100 Rankings.
