The State of SA Schoolboy Hockey

CATCHING up with Mike Bechet  is always going to be enlightening and I took the opportunity to probe the hockey brain of one of school hockey's most successful coaches about schoolboy hockey.  

In the March 2010 edition of this publication, we brought the numerous talents of Tyler Fisher to the attention of the country.

The ninth tournament of the @lantic 7's series moved to Glenwood High in Durban  last Saturday, 20 August 2011. The first match kicked-off at 08:30 with the Cup final being played at 16:00 and from the start is was a hotly contested tournament.

Rugby Report: Hudson Park v Cambridge

The classic clash between Hudson Park and Cambridge started in spectacular fashion with Hudson Park, Grade 11 pupil Mitchell Hill, at 17 years and 3 months, and two other Hudson Park past -pupils flying  low over the Hudson Park school field in their Jabirui light aircraft.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the western side of Paarl this past weekend as at least the Hoer Meisieskool Paarl put on a winning performance on the netball courts.

Steroid Scandal at Craven Week!

Rugby: Cape Town - Doping control tests have revealed that schoolboys as young as 17 years old participating in the recent Craven Week schools rugby tournament, have tested positive for anabolic steroids and could face bans of up to two years from sport.
