What is a Coaching Philosophy- Part 3

In this series of articles/blogs on Building a Coaching Philosophy, I am urging Coaches to document their approach to coaching. You are unique, have a certain skill set and have something so amazing to pass onto the next generation of athletes.

Basketball: This Week's Rankings: 27/02/2019

St Stithians snatch the lead on this week’s First Team Basketball Rankings after putting in one of their biggest performances this year and winning the St.John’s College Tournament.

There are two big movers on this week’s Top 60 First XI Rankings after the dust has settled following an action packed week which saw most of the top teams in action.

There are plenty of cross provincial matches on the go with the Independent School week taking place and several teams on tour.

Last week I stated that confidence can be brittle and fragile, and it needs to be intentionally and systematically rebuilt. Here are some steps that you can take to rebuild your confidence.

Basketball: This Week's Rankings: 21/02/2019

This Week’s First Team Basketball Rankings has Kearsney College enjoying life in the top spot however there are several teams in the chasing pack that are serious contenders and could well challenge for higher honours.

SACS are still laying claim to the No.1 spot on this week’s Boy’s Water Polo Rankings but the field has closed on them and it is looking like several teams could well be serious contenders in 2019.

In 2018 it was Pearson who ended the season as the leading team in the country and although they have started well once against we are looking at St Stithians who are taking the No.1 spot for this week on the Water Polo Rankings.

Not as many matches were played last week across South Africa with many teams enjoying a midterm break from action.

However St Andrews College make an entry into this week’s top five zone after stringing together several wins on the trot including a valuable win over Grey High who they managed to beat by 4 wickets.

Grey HS find themselves camping just outside the top 10 of this Week’s First XI Rankings and it was Tiaan van Vuuren who took 4/42 which helped Grey HS get over the line against Selborne College last week.

Travis Norris was in good form for Bishops against the touring Malvern College team from the UK with a classy 82 runs and Tebogo Faas snatched a five for in Wynberg’s win over Affies.
