Rondebosch continue to command the leading position on this week’s SA School Sports Top 40 Rankings although they were forced to share the spoils with a determined SACS team last week.

St Stitihians came close to slipping on the proverbial banana skin when they faced a motivated St.Benedicts team who were in no mood to bow down to the leading team in the country.

The School Cricket season is in full swing with most of the teams in action this weekend.

Jeppe have hit their straps during the past few weeks, peeling off victory after victory which has helped the Johannesburg team move into the second spot on this week’s Belgotex Sports U14 Cricket Rankings.

Rondebosch U15 team have made some important gains up the table and are good value for their 3rd position on this week’s U15 Belgotex Sports Rankings.

St Stithians became the first team from Gauteng to win the prestigious Reddam Tournament when they faced the hosts in the final which they won 7-5 in what goes down as one of the matches of the year.

For the second consecutive year the Rondebosch team lifted the Cup at the SACS Tournament where they brushed aside the hosts in the final 5-2 in what turned out to be a wonderful display from two formidable teams.

There has been plenty of cricket played in the past two weeks with Cape Schools Week and the Oppenheimar/Michaelmas Week seeing many of the leading teams in action.
