Ashton International College

Ashton International College is a Co-ed English Medium College offering the Best of Both Worlds. Ashton offers the Independent Examinations Board Curriculum as well as the Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum.

Excellence in sport and culture form part of this curriculum and the combined effort of our staff, parent body and students enable us to unlock the potential that lies within every student. Specialist coaches are employed for sport offered and include Athletics, Netball, Action Netball, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Indoor Hockey, Golf, Cricket, Surfing, Tennis and all year round swimming.

During 2014 it was Ashton’s most successful swimming and rugby seasons to date, with the 1st team swimmers clinching the Co-Ed A League D&D trophy, and the 1st team rugby boys notching up 12 wins from 12 starts.

The U14A hockey boys also had an unbeaten run in their league this past season. The school also recognises sport not offered by the school, provided these are recognised by the Department of Sport and Recreation and are well administered by Controlling Bodies. The College embarked on their first International hockey tour to Holland this year, and the rugby team participated at the St Dunstan’s Easter Festival. Anually the girls’ hockey team attends the Maties training tournament and the 1st team hockey girls qualified to participate in the Spar Tournament by winning the North Durban Coastal section.

On the cultural side Ashton offer Marimbas, Instrument Groups, Choir, Chess, Public Speaking, Dramatic Arts and Environmental Awareness.

No festivals at Ashton for remainder of this year.

Ashton offers sport, academic and all round scholarships, and mostly these are applied for when entering Senior College but also considered, based on achievements and funds available.
