Hockey: This Week's Results: 26/05/2018

This Week’s School Hockey results from around South Africa:

Herschel remains the leading Girls U16 Hockey team in the country following their brace of victories over the last week and they certainly seem to be a team who is difficult to beat.

The race to the top of the table is becoming very intense with any one of several teams capable to ending the season as the leading U16 hockey team in South Africa.

Pretoria Boys High, who had been inching up the rankings in an attempt to force a coup at the top of the table, suffered a narrow loss to St Johns College over the weekend that has seen them lose a bit of footing on this week’s Belgotex Sports Boy’s Top 70 Rankings.

Herschel delivered a big result over the weekend with a 7-3 win over Rhenish which has caused a bit of a tremor at the top end of this week’s Girls Top 70 Rankings.

Hockey: This Week's Results: 19/05/2018

This Week’s School Hockey results from around South Africa:

The under 16 Top Schools Ranking for boys and girls has been going for 3 months and has enjoyed tremendous support. Thanks for your contributions to date. We are very excited to see the caliber of schools that are participating and to see how tight the competition is at the top.

It has become a very congested top half of the table with very little to separate the teams as we move into the business end of the season.

There is a slight shuffle that takes place on this week’s Boys U16 Hockey Rankings with Grey High School inching up to the second spot on the table which still has the other Grey at the top.

Bloemhof put in one of their finest results of the season when they took on and beat the high-flying Herschel team which has resulted in a minor reshuffling of teams on this week’s Girls Hockey Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

Maritzburg College kept the Kearsney College challenge at bay last week with a robust 3-1 victory which keeps them entrenched at the top of this Week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

DSG make it into the important top 10 zone on this week’s Girl’s U16 Hockey Rankings after a couple of wins last week helped their cause.

Grey College are still leading the Boys U16 Hockey Rankings for this week although we have seen some movement on the table after the past week’s matches.

Paarl Gim are the only team that inch forward on this week’s Girls Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings as they move into their season best to position 7.

KES became the next team to yield to the strong overall play of Maritzburg College who retain the No.1 position on this week’s Boy’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

Herschel stamp their authority on the Girl’s U16 Rankings with a classy performance at the Rustenburg Champions Cup during the past week and deservedly lay claim to the leading position for this week.

It is a fairly static top half of the table at the moment with Grey College still out in front leading the Boy’s U16 School Hockey Ranking for another week.

Maritzburg College hold onto the top spot by the skin of their teeth this week after being forced into a draw against a motivated Northwood side leaving the door wide open for the likes of Jeppe and Pretoria Boys High to snatch poll position.
