Wins for all the leading teams has resulted in a virtually unchanged top half of the table with Rondebosch still out in front of this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

St Stithians after what has been an impressive season so far finally climb into the top five leading teams on this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings after clinching some good results which included holding St.Mary’s Waverley to a 1-1 draw.

This Week’s Belgotex Sports Girls Rankings is little changed amongst the leading teams from last week although St.Stithians have inched closer to a top five entry after completing a hard earned win over St.Andrews Girls.

 

It continues to be one way traffic for Rondebosch who once again added another scalp to this season’s haul as their unbeaten run stretches to record proportions and they remain the leading team on this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

The qualification cut off for this year’s FNB Private Wealth Super 12 Hockey Tournament hosted by Meisieskool Oranje has finally come after a plethora of results have flooded in during the past few weeks.

It’s tight at the top of this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings with the top six teams all recording wins last week which all makes for a very congested top end of the table.

This is how the Belgotex Top 70 Rankings are looking like at this stage of the season with Oranje Meisies firmly entrenched at the top of the ladder.

There is just one more week left for the leading teams in the country to qualify for the prestigious Super 12 Tournament hosted by Oranje Meisies and with plenty of results flooding in we are looking at a very stable Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings for this week.

Rondebosch continue to notch up the wins as they progress through 2017 unbeaten so far and head this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

We have a fairly stable top 10 at the moment on this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings as the teams pull out all the stops to try and qualify for the Oranje Meisies Super 12 Tournament.

Rondebosch stretched their unbeaten run to 15 matches this season and move to the top of the Belgotex Sports Rankings for this week.

With only week’s remaining for teams to qualify for the Super 12 Tournament hosted by Oranje Meisies there has been plenty of results pouring in which has resulted in some interesting movement on this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

Westville suffered their first defeat of the season when they took on a motivated Jeppe side in a tightly contested scrap. This has resulted in the two leaders, Rondebosch and Maritzburg College opening up some daylight on the chasing pack in this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

As you are well aware of, Meisieskool Oranje hosts the yearly prestigious annual Super 12 under 18 Girls Hockey Tournament.

Oranje Meisies rose to the occasion once again at the All Girls Tournament last week where they successfully defended their title for the fifth year in a row. In so doing Oranje edge out St. Mary’s Waverley to occupy the No.1 spot on this week’s Belgotex Sports Rankings.

Maritzburg College, the perennial powerhouse of schools hockey enters the Belgotex Top 70 Rankings for the first time this year and immediately put pressure on the leading teams.

Oranje Meisies have moved within a whisker of recapturing the No.1 spot on the Belgotex Sports Rankings for this week where we still find St.Mary’s Waverley hanging on to the leading position.

After the dust has settled following the Easter weekend where many of the leading teams played matches, we have a tightly compacted top 15 which augers well for the standard of hockey that has been played.

Rondebosch hit the top of the Belgotex Sports Top 50 Rankings for this week after a stunning start to the season which has seen them complete 11 matches without tasting defeat yet.

Eunice enjoy their first visit to the top spot on this week’s Belgotex Girls Rankings although it is still very early days in the 2017 season.

It’s Jeppe Boys who have thrown down the gauntlet to the teams in South Africa as they occupy the top spot in the first publishing of the Belgotex Top 40 Rankings for 2017.

The season opener for College was against Grey College from Bloemfontein. It was an unusually balmy morning on the Pape’s Astro with heavy clouds in the sky and a very wet turf following an eve of heavy rain.
