Green Machine Coach Sean Erasmus

They have been standing proud at the pinnacle of school rugby in KwaZulu-Natal for several seasons now and if you ask any team in the province they will tell you that their biggest goal is to try and topple the unofficial leaders.

The Grey High School Rugby Festival raised the bar in school rugby by delivering one of the most exciting mix of teams which produced some great rugby. Congrats to Grey High for hostings such a wonderful festival. Here are the final days reports:

The second day of the Grey Rugby Festival will again be remembered for some close encounters as well as some runaway victories.

Bishops maintained their unbeaten run at the Grey Hockey Festival with a convincing 2-0 victory over Hilton College. Other unbeaten side Maritzburg were held to a 2-2 draw by an improving Grey College XI.

Newlands Rugby Day: Some Great Cape Rugga

Some big rugby matches taking place this week and none more so than the ones that kick off at Newlands Rugby Day on the 30th of March.

The newly appointed administrator of rugby at Maritzburg College, Steve Botha, is not one to sidestep potentially explosive questions. For one, he uses a simple but effective analogy to put to bed the notion that parents and teachers put too much pressure on schoolboy rugby players to win at all costs.

T20 cricket has taken the world by storm. One only has to look at the millions spent on top players for the T20 Indian Premier League to realize, whether us purists like it or not, that T20 is here to stay and revolutionise cricket as we know it. While I write this article the Cricket World Cup is raging on, with the minnows looking decidedly out of their league in the 50 Over format of the game. Its only natural as the longer the game the more skill, technique and dare I say professionalism is required in order to perform effectively.
