Rugby: Cuddles not Team Huddles?

The team huddle photo has become the stuff of legend, whether you are witnessing a world cup final or your local u10’s, you will find team-mates shoulder to shoulder, white knuckles afraid to let go and a sweaty smoke rising from the discussion fire.

It has been a long season already for Paarl Boys High who begun their 2017 season with a successful tour to New Zealand, yet despite having to face the best on offer they remain unbeaten and on top of this week’s Belgotex Sports First XV Top 100 Rankings for yet another week.

Another massive week of rugby across the country!

It is Selborne College who make the most significant move up the table to move into the coveted Top 5 zone on this week’s U16 Belgotex Sports Top 100 Rankings.

We have a virtually unchanged U15 Belgotex Sports Top 100 Rankings for this week with the top five positions remaining the same mainly due to those top teams all recording victories over the past weekend.

This Week’s Belgotex Sports Girls Rankings is little changed amongst the leading teams from last week although St.Stithians have inched closer to a top five entry after completing a hard earned win over St.Andrews Girls.

It continues to be one way traffic for Rondebosch who once again added another scalp to this season’s haul as their unbeaten run stretches to record proportions and they remain the leading team on this week’s Belgotex Sports Top 70 Rankings.

After two weeks since the last publishing of the U14 Belgotex Sports Top 100 Rankings we still have the unconquered Outeniqua team out in front although the gap between them and the chasing pack has shrunk slightly.

Oakdale turned in their performance of the season when they took on the leading team in South Africa, Paarl Boys High, and came within a whisker of recording the biggest upset of 2017. However Boishaai clung on to a 36-31 victory to keep their unbeaten status intact and lead this week’s Belgotex Sports First XV Top 100 Rankings.

Another massive week of rugby across the country!
