Cricket: Dainfern Makes a Bid to be the Best in SA

In a bold bid to become one of the best cricketing schools in Johannesburg, Dainfern College has embarked on this ambitious goal by recruiting one of the most revered cricketing coaches in the world.

Ray Jennings who was one of South Africa’s leading wicket-keepers in his playing days has been appointed as Dainfern College’s cricket professional and his appointment is in line with Dainfern’s objective of becoming one of the foremost co-educational cricket school in South Africa.

Jennings brings a tremendous amount of experience to the job and it would be difficult to find anyone in world cricket more qualified to take a school cricketing team to the very top.

Not only has Ray Jennings coached the South Africa national team in 2004, but has coached the Under 19 team to World Cup success in 2014 and is the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

Ray Jennings will be overseeing the coaching at the school and provide individual tuition and advice toplayers. Dainfern College hastop-class sports facilities including a Cricket Academy with training netsand floodlights and an Indoor Sports Centrewith indoor cricket nets.

The College’s First XImade it through to the quarter-finals of the Jonny WaiteCricket Knock-out Tournament this season.

Can a coach like Jennings make a difference? We look forward to tracking Dainfern Colleges fortunes in the seasons to come.
