What has been noticeable so far this season is how the traditional rugby schools like Potch Volkskool and EG Jansen have taken to the game and especially in the T20 format where they have been able to beat the big name teams.

Potch Volkies is the Highveld Lions’ T20 champion after they have beaten the Gauteng champion, KES, convincingly with 4 wickets at Senwes Park on Tuesday 10 February.

Wynberg and Rondebosch swap places on the Powerade Performance Rankings for the First XI’s this week which was most likely due to Wynberg able to secure a comfortable win over Paarl Gym, whilst Rondebosch had to settle for a draw against SACS.

Check out this week’s Fixtures & Results here:

Rondebosch hit the front and take the top spot away from Hilton College on the Powerade Performance Rankings after a comfortable victory over Boishaai!

Regularly updated cricket fixtures and results for this week and for over the weekend.

An impressive win by high-flying Hilton College over Kearsney College helped to consolidate their position at the top of the Powerade Performance Cricket Rankings for this week although the likes of Rondebosch and Waterkloof move up the table as they mount a challenge for the top spot.

AB de Villiers copied a matric pupil from Volkskool Potchefstroom on that Sunday when he hit that magnificent innings at the Wanderers Bullring on the 18th of January!

A cracking season of cricket is underway with many of the teams that will be in action over the weekend having already participated in several festivals and tours, so the quality and form of the players should be very good.

Most of the top teams across the country have taken part in several festivals that were held during January which has helped to reignite their form for the 2014/15 season.

The culmination of the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Cricket week each year is the announcement of the SA Schools and SA Colts teams.  The SA Schools team will play a Titans team tomorrow, Monday, 22 December at SuperSport Park and the SA Colts team will play a Titans Invitation XI at St Albans College.  Both games start at 10am.

Gauteng won the main game at the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola for the second year in a row when they beat Western Province by four wickets at St Alban’s College in Pretoria on Sunday.

Despite losing almost a full day of play due to rain at the U19 Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Cricket Week, currently taking place in Pretoria, by lunch time of the third day there were a number of players who had produced a few excellent performances, putting their hands up as players to watch out for in the remaining games, which is what the tournament is all about – making heroes.

Western Province’s Kyle Verreyn and Stefan Klopper of Northerns were the individual heroes of the opening day of the U19 Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week in Pretoria on Wednesday.

The best up and coming cricketers in South Africa will come together in Pretoria from 17-22 December for the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Under-19 Week. This Week is Cricket South Africa's (CSA) top cricket development programme and one of the biggest influences in the CSA development pipeline.

A mighty effort by Hilton College who managed to go unbeaten in what was a terrific season for the KZN team, almost saw them overtake Waterkloof in the final placing on the Powerade Performance U14 Rankings for 2014.

Waterkloof led from start to finish in the Powerade Performance U15 Rankings during 2014 and are congratulated for ending up as the leading team in South Africa once again.

Only a handful of matches were played over the past week as the 2014 cricket season finally draws to a close. However with several outstanding results now flooding in we do have some movement on the Powerade Performance Rankings which has looked fairly settled during the past few weeks.

In November 2014, ten year old Malikah Hamza, a Grade four learner at Wynberg Girls Junior, became the youngest cricketer ever to play against a senior international cricket side.

Cricket: Results & Fixtures for 15/11/14

The Cricket season is all but over although there will still be several key matches to be decided this week in the South African School cricket scene.

A brilliant victory by Menlopark over the number one side in the country, Waterkloof, was perhaps the biggest result of the past week and although Menlopark managed to climb up to their highest spot on the Powerade Performance Rankings of the year, Waterkloof still remain entrenched at the top.

This week there is plenty of action on the cricket fields around South Africa which includes several key declaration matches and chance for some younger players to represent their First XI in the Coca-Cola T20  matches.

More big wins by the Waterkloof juggernaut keeps the Pretoria team firmly entrenched at the top of the Powerade Performance Rankings for the U15’s.

A breathtaking loss by St. Stithians over KES blunted their chances of reaching the top of the Powerade Performance Rankings where we find Waterkloof once again occupying the Number One spot and it is looking increasingly likely that they will remain there.
