Basketball: The SA Schools Top 20 Rankings

Eight 3 pointers by Maritzburg College’s Njabulo Biyela and a mammoth 20 rebounds from Siyathokoza Magubane, paved the way for a dominant win over St Charles College and send them to the top of the rankings.

BASKETBALL RANKINGS PIC copyMaritzburg College have always been one of the stronger teams in the country and they have started 2014 well with three straight wins which have included a strong DHS side and have thrown down the gauntlet this year to the other teams.

St Stithians and Pretoria Boy’s High put on a terrific show in a game that went down to the wire with Saints scrapping home on the buzzer. Saints now make steady progress up the table and only have a two point loss to St.John’s as their only blemish in a strong start to the season.

(Check out the other results from last week here)

The criteria for a team to be included in the rankings is that they must have played a minimum of two matches so we can expect a few more familiar names to make an appearance next week.
