Basketball: St. John's College U19 Tournament

Perhaps the biggest gathering of the country’s finest basketball talent will be on display at the St.John’s College’s 7th for the annual St. John’s College U19 Tournament.

stalbansvsstjohns1The competition promises to be just as tough as it was last year and look out for some surprise results. Last year’s defending champion’s DHS will be hoping to continue their dominance at the tournament but several of the top teams are very close in form going into the competition so expect some tight results.

A loyal servant of Zim basketball - Obituary Ron Garura who was the Head basketball coach at St John’s College for the past five years died on Thursday, 4th October after a short battle with cancer.

More than 120 matches amongst Southern Africa's top school basketball teams and it was Durban High School who finally were the only team left standing after a massive effort to defeat the hosts, St. John's College in the final.

St. John’s College will host their sixth Invitational Basketball Tournament this weekend and once again it promises to bring together some of South Africa’s finest school basketball teams.
